Initiatives

Kalvakuntla Kavitha aspires to empower Telangana into an economic power house. Her idea of development goes beyond the existing ideologies of the system. She envisions Telangana to be the numero-uno state of India. She will provide her best effort to develop Telangana into a corruption-free land and also ensure that the government works within the confines of democracy.

Telengana Jagruthi

Telangana Jagruthi instills the feeling of togetherness by inducing valour and pride in regional festivals like Bathukamma, whose permissions for celebrations would initially require court orders. Telangana Jagruthi has grown by leaps and bounds and has transformed into a strong socio-cultural organization with thousands of dedicated members across the globe.

Bringing motivation from the ongoing people’s campaign for the statehood of Telangana and a great urge to work for the benefit of the people led Kavitha to the form of Telangana Jagruthi in August 2006. Telangana Jagruthi played a key role in gathering the support of youth as well as women. The renowned sections of the community which served as strength were driven by the calm and non-violent fight for the Independent Statehood of Telangana.

Bathukamma, is a floral festival of Telangana which has been celebrated over a decade by Kavitha via Telangana Jagruthi. Today, Bathukamma is a worldwide celebrated festival with over 30 countries participating in it, all thanks to the effort of Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

Kavitha is actively associated with Telangana Rashtra Vidyut Karmika Sangham – TRVKS – Electricity Employees Union and Telangana Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association – TAWHA – An organization of Anganwadi workers.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides

K Kavitha was elected the first state chief commissioner of the Telangana chapter of The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS & G) Association in 2015. With her appointment as state chief commissioner, Kavitha became the youngest person to hold this position in the country. She is also the only second woman state chief commissioner in India. She formally took charge at the investiture ceremony held at the BSG state headquarters at Domalguda. She was re-elected for the post in the year 2020.

Thangedu Magazine

Inspired from the vision of Hon’ble CM SRI KCR & Telangana Ideologue Professor Jayashanker, Thangedu Magazine is a fortnite magazine by Telangana Jagruthi initiated by Kavitha. In native Telangana language, Thangedu is a local flower that can thrive on any particular soil. Therefore, this diversified nature of the flower became the primary inspiration of this magazine.

Thangedu magazine is committed to celebrating our rich legacy of writers, poets and inspiring conversations around literature among the new generation. The magazine serves as a confluence of the traditional and modern literature that showcases the depth and roots of cultural and literary sentiment.

Free Food Centre

Kavitha’s Free Food Centre aims to provide hygienic and healthy food to students, patients, and their attendants at government hospitals in Nizamabad, Armoor, and Bodhan. The initiative started with Nizamabad Government Hospital and Nizamabad Library that feeded more than 750 people a day. Kavitha expanded her initiative and extended it to the Government Hospitals at Armoor, Bodhan, and Metpelly. Over the last three years, the “Free Meal Camps” has been able to cater to serve the hunger needs of over 1 million people. The Programme was further extended to serve frontline Covid Warriors.

Serving Differently-Abled People

Kalvakuntla Kavitha always comes forward to support the needy section of the society, especially when it comes to differently-able people. On one instance, Kavitha provided free three wheeler scooters to seven specially-able people in Telangana and also assured them of full financial support in the future.

In another instance, through the help of her official Twitter account, she aided support to Srinivas, another differently-able man who damaged his vertebra in an unfortunate road mishap by providing him with a three-wheeler scooter.

Therefore, Kavitha always ensures the need of the people given the top-most priority. She insists her team and well wishers to celebrate her special days (like birthdays) by helping the needy section of the society. On her last birthday her well wishers, fans and supporters provided 30 bicycles to the school going girls and also gifted 6 three-wheeler scooters to the specially-able people.

Kavitha has been consistently working towards building a society that believes in peaceful co-existence and embraces humanity. Her efforts in public space have brought a significant change especially for a nascent state like Telangana that found tirelessly for their unique identity.
