Will Ensure All Possible Help from State, Central Governments, Kavitha Assures Farmers

KARIMNAGAR:Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday assured all possible help to the farmers, who suffered losses due to the recent hailstorm and rains that swept across Korutla and Raikal mandals.

Kalvakuntla Kavitha visited hailstorm hit areas in Jagitial division

The Nizamabad MP, along with ZP chairperson Tula Uma and district collector Neetu Prasad, toured villages in both the mandals in Karimnagar, that come under the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. Consoling the rain-hit farmers, she said the Central and State governments were concerned regarding the damage caused to various crops, especially the damage to 3,000 hectares of mango crop, in the State.

Mango crop is said to be a potential revenue source for farmers from these areas. Later, Kavitha visited Allipur, Ramojipet, Morapalli and some other villages in the mandals.

Farmers in large numbers interacted with the MP and showed her their flattened paddy and sesame crops along with rain-hit banana plantations.

After inspecting the damaged crops at various villages, Kavitha told the farmers that she would extend all possible help to the farmers whose crops got damaged completely. She said that at some villages, 100 per cent crops have been damaged.

The daughter of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said officials were still preparing reports on crop damage and once the reports were finalised, they will be forwarded to the Central government for further action. “Farmers who lost 33 per cent of crop will get compensation as per the Centre’s new guidelines,” she informed the farmers during the visit.
